When patients come to Alliance Physical Therapy, we understand there are other things they would rather be doing.  In general, physical therapy can be very demanding of time and effort in order to achieve the best outcomes.  At Alliance Physical Therapy, we try to make each patient's experience a positive one by helping them feel comfortable and making the experience enjoyable while still working hard toward meeting established goals.

Depending upon the injury or diagnosis, physical therapy, as stated, can be very time consuming, but this is not always the case.  For example, we recently saw a woman who had been having back and hip pain since Christmas.  She thought the symptoms would just go away.  When she arrived for her first appointment, she was having difficulty standing, walking, sitting at her desk, and was limited in mobility to the point where she wasn't able to bend forward.  Following a thorough musculo-skeletal evaluation by a physical therapist, appropriate manual therapy techniques were applied.  Within the hour she was bending forward, walking, and sitting with very little pain.  A follow-up was performed the next day and she was still doing well.  A week later, she is back to normal activity without any complaints of back or hip pain.  Her total physical therapy intervention time was a little more than an hour.  The point is, not all physical therapy interventions require time consuming exercises and numerous treatments to improve.  Depending on our findings, some treatments may only require a few sessions to help you get back to your life.

Yours in health,
