Karen Brown, PT |

Karen received her Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy
from the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC). She has practiced in acute
care, long term care, home health and outpatient care. Her extensive continuing education is strong in the areas of orthopedics, manual
therapy, and industrial health as well as
health care management. She is certified by Sole Supports as a custom orthotics fitter.
She is qualified to perform, and highly
experienced in, functional capacity
testing. Within the field of orthopedics, Karen's areas of special interest are
foot/ankle, headaches, and pediatrics. She also is the physical therapist for Good Samaritan
Health Care
Center and Alliance
Public Schools.
Professional Affiliations: Karen has served on the Nebraska Board of
Physical Therapy, the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy, and is an
active member of the American Physical Therapy Association (Orthopedic, Sports
and Private Practice Sections) and the Nebraska Physical Therapy Association.
She is a long-time member of the clinical faculties of UNMC and Creighton University,
with a passion for educating professional PT students.
Karen and her husband enjoy spending time with their grown
children and their families. Hobbies include gardening, camping, hiking, snow
skiing, reading, and writing. Karen is active in the women's ministries of her church and serves on the board of directors for Habitat
for Humanity of Box Butte County.

Val received her
Master's Degree in Physical Therapy from
the University of Findlay in Ohio.
This degree was preceded by a Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science from the
University of Nebraska-Lincoln and a
Physical Therapist Assistant Associate Degree from Northeast
Community College in Norfolk, NE.
She is also certified in Aquatic Therapy by the International Council for
Aquatic Therapy and Rehabilitation .
Within her strong orthopedic education, Val has a special interest in
treating pathologies of the shoulder and knee. She is currently completing a
series of courses addressing postural dysfunction from the Postural Restoration
Institute in Lincoln, NE.
Professional affiliations:
American Physical Therapy Association (Orthopedic and Sports Physical
Therapy Sections), Nebraska Physical Therapy Association, and The Multiple
Sclerosis Society.
Val lists her hobbies as
cycling, walking, hiking, reading, traveling, trying all types of
spicy food, and drinking strong coffee!

A native of eastern Wyoming,
Matt received his Master's Degree in Physical Therapy from the University of North Dakota. Since his graduation in
1994, Matt has worked in multiple patient care settings, including acute care,
long term care and outpatient care. Matt's extensive and ongoing education in
orthopedic physical therapy is demonstrated in the excellent outcomes of his
patients. Matt obtained OCS certification in June, 2009. Within his strong orthopedic
repertoire, Matt's special interest lies in the treatment of low back and
sacroiliac (SI) pain and dysfunction.

Matt commutes to Alliance
4 days a week, from Gering, where he enjoys spending time with his wife and two
sons. Don't be surprised to see Matt hiking or mountain biking in the great
outdoors!
