A client recently asked me whether or not Physical Therapists could work on hands and wrists, as they thought this area of specialty was outside of Physical Therapy.  My reply back to her was a definite, "YES, we can!"  While Physical Therapists are known traditionally for working on shoulders, knees, and backs, it is fully within our scope of practice to work on hands and wrists.  In many cases, a wrist or hand injury or pain may be caused from the neck or shoulder.  As Physical Therapists, we are fully trained to assess each of these areas and to help determine the source and cause of the pain.  In fact, we are fully trained and educated to work on all areas of the musculo-skeletal system.  Some Physical Therapists even have advanced education and specialized training in areas of interest such as orthopedics, neurology, sports medicine, and hands.

At Alliance Physical Therapy, we see a wide variety of patient demographics and diagnoses.  So . . . whether it's shoulders, knees, backs, hands, or wrists . . . we provide highly skilled and professional care to our patients.  For a more detailed look at the many services that we offer, covering a wide range of conditions, go to our home page and click on Services.

Yours in health,

Matt
