According to a recent publication by the American Physical Therapy Association, a study of 1,435 NCAA Division I female soccer players demonstrated that those athletes who participated in a structured physical therapy program had an overall ACL injury rate 41% less than those who only did a regular warm-up prior to practice. Physical therapists receive specialized training in a variety of sciences including physics, human anatomy and physiology, kinesiology (human movement) to name just a few. Our education allows us to understand how the body works and how to get it moving again. We are trained to help manage all four of the body's major systems - musculoskeletal, neuromuscular, cardiovascular/pulmonary, and integumentary (skin) - to restore and maximize mobility, strength, and function. Whether you are living with diabetes, recovering from a stroke, orthopedic surgery, a fall or a sports injury, the physical therapists at Alliance Physical Therapy are trusted health care professionals that will work closely with you to evaluate your condition and develop an effective and personalized plan of care. We can help you achieve long-term results for many conditions, such as repetitive strain/stress injuries, arthritis, back and neck and posture problems, too. Yours in health, Matt
