Something that became clear to me this week is how much I take for granted.  Like water . . . to drink, and cook with, and wash dishes in . . . that doesn't have to be boiled!  I don't know about you, but boiling water for 1 minute, then letting it sit for a minute, then using it to brush my teeth, etc, etc. . . .well, let's just say that if I were a car I would have felt like my driver just shifted in to "park" while I was traveling along at 65 mph.  I'm afraid that for me, like for so many of us in today's world, the idea of "S...L...O...W...D...O...W...N!" is an almost forgotten art.  What else do I take for granted?  How about electricity . . .on Monday afternoons!  What will I do when, 2 days from now, I will be without my complicated yet "instant" network of computers, email and phone systems for up to 3 hours?  How will I survive without the constant hum of background noise?  It may actually be quiet and require me to "simplify" my life for a few hours . . . another test for my "get-as-much-done-as-I-can-in-a-day!" mentality.

Yes, my friends, we live in a frantic and never-quiet society.  As we celebrate Thanksgiving this week, wouldn't God smile on us if we all made an effort to "S...L...O...W...D...O...W...N!" and "simplify" our lives and really took time to thank Him for ALL the blessings he has provided us?  Simple blessings, like running, safe water and available electricity as well as amazing and complex blessings, like our families, our friends, our jobs and our nation!

All of us at Alliance Physical Therapy want to say we are truly thankful for the trust you have placed in us for your physical therapy care!  We wish you a wonderful Thanksgiving with some quiet and simple moments tucked into the celebration!

Thankful for you,

Karen
